Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Associate or Manager to support our growing government and commercial business development efforts. This individual will work closely with the Chief Business Officer, VP of Business Development, and cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities, manage stakeholder engagement, and coordinate proposal development. This is a key supporting role for someone eager to grow in a fast-paced, highly technical space environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and evaluate new government and commercial business opportunities (e.g., AFWERX, DIU, SDA, NASA, commercial)
- Assist with writing and managing government proposal submissions across different agencies such as DoD, NASA, and others.
- Help maintain and improve our CRM and BD tracking systems. Airtable experience is preferred but not required.
- Draft customer briefings, one-pagers, and internal capture notes
- Support customer meeting prep, follow-ups, and logistics
- Contribute to the development of BD strategies across AstroForge’s dual-use technology offerings
- Support AstroForge’s presence at industry events and conferences
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in business development, strategy, government affairs, or federal proposal coordination
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Familiarity with U.S. government funding pathways (SBIR/STTR, DIU, AFWERX, NASA, DoD, etc.)
Preferred:
- Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Airtable)
- Prior experience in the space industry, defense tech, or dual-use startups
- Understanding of space-related government funding and acquisition programs (SDA, TACFI/STRATFI, etc.)
- Experience with federal proposal writing and coordination
- Led >$1M of total contract wins (govt and commercial) and/or directly supported on >$10m total contract wins.
- Working knowledge of NASA, Space Force, and relevant government organizations

Salary
- $150,000 - $190,000

ITAR Requirements
